The history of Mangiatorella water and its health-promoting properties began way back in 1904, when Garibaldi general Achille Fazzari established its first bottling room: a lazaretto spa for curing people suffering from chronic diseases, where he also began selling 20 litre demijohns and 1 litre bottles of water. The company 'Fonte della Mangiatorella' was established on 8 May 1958, receiving recognition from the Ministry of Health, as well as their authorisation to bottle their low mineral content water (M.D. no. 703 of 20 October 1959).

Their production line for glass bottled water was launched in 1968, with its commercialisation beginning in 1971. Since the 80s, Mangiatorella has been experiencing exponential growth, which can be seen from an annual 10% growth on its turnover. This growth can be attributed to the continual dedication and passion with which businessmen in Calabria, as well as its shareholders, have embraced the Mangiatorella cause and gradually gained the loyalty of its consumers.
